Puffed Sleeves!
So im doing my puffed sleeves part of the task, and I cant believe how much of an impact it has made on fashion at the moment. I can guarantee that almost every shop i have been in this week has had a garment with puffed sleeves. It made such an impact on me that I even ended up having to buy a striped puffed sleeve dress, im even tempted to go back for more, besides a girl can never have too many clothes, so why not.

I found an alternative to faces!!
So after shopping today I came accross this window display which i found really appealing and quite amusing as it gave me thoughts for ideas of how i could draw figure shapes in the future, which linked back to my assessment feedback. I know that my weakness when drawing is that i cant often find the confidence to be able to draw faces, however i really liked how the unusual shape gave a quirky look to the display which is quite different to what you would see in other window displays. It just proves that there are so many ways you can portray fashion, its up to you how you choose to do it, its all about individuality and making something new and exciting, in my opinion anyway.

Thinking back to creative approaches to fashion!!!
Today I have been thinking back to the work that was handed in last week and im getting slightly nervous awaiting my result because on reflection i think
" oh i should have done that, i should have done this differently, and maybe that would have worked better if i would have done this...."
But i guess this is all part of learning and developing your ideas which will benefit my projects in the future.
At the time i felt as though i had worked hard to combine both of my research areas in order to make the final garment. My chosen areas was to choose Caroline Broadhead as one area and then the phrase "Cut out and Keep." From these two areas i developed the idea of cutting out basic floral shapes and layering them to create decoration on to my fabric, which links with cut out and keep, i then was inspired by the work of Caroline Broadheads Sharp Lines work, which made me come up with the idea of pleats which i also used on my garment.
It is interesting what can be made when given the task of only using three shirts to create a garment.... but its also amazing with some of the ideas that different people come up with.
It is now time to start the task set for my upcoming project. I plan to start things off tomorrow by going into leeds to take photos that are relevant to the areas we have been given which will includes looking at :
-Darts
-Zips
-Puffed Sleeves
-Flared Sleeves
-Flared skirts/dresses.
Hopefully i should be pretty successful with this, lets hope anyways :)

Today I had my assessment feedback, it was useful to hear where I could make improvements for future modules.
From my assessment I now know that I need to teach myself how to draw faces, as I havent included them on any of my drawings for this module, this may effect my mark, but at least its something I know I can hopefully build on. I am hopefully going christmas shopping tomorrow which will also allow me to look into the task we have just been set to do about darts, puffed sleeves etc, which should be interesting.

Deadline day is here
So my deadline for module 2- creative approaches of fashion was today and im thinking back to the workshops we did a couple of weeks ago and it makes me realise just how useful they were, as I probably wouldnt have come up with the ideas I did for my 20 illustrations. I am slightly nervous for my assessment feedback which is only normal to feel that way.
I really enjoyed this project as it was a bit of a challenge because I strongly felt as though I needed to build on my techniques in order to make my work better. It is important that you should feel proud of your work, because as they say " practice makes perfect". From this project I can hopefully build on my confidence when doing the next module, which i aim to do better each time.

Sheffield!!
So I feel I am settling into college life quite well. I've met lots of new people and its nice getting to know new people, its like been back at school for the first time. As a way of getting to know each other the college arranged a trip to sheffield as a part of our first module, we were to look around and take pictures that inspired us.
